about the artist

My name is Rosemary Cheslock and I have been working in some form of glass for about 10 years.

I started by learning how to cut glass and make patio stones, for my garden. Since I had all of these small pieces of glass leftover, I started to do mosaics.... on chairs, tables, pots...anything that was not moving.

Learning how to solder, got me over the fear of the heat and I make a variety of stained glass projects using the foil method.

I have always loved jewelry and attend many of the Art Shows in our area, After receiving a beadmaking kit for Christmas, I signed up for a class and the rest is history. I have been making beads since 2003

Getting involved in Lampworking has changed my life. I have met many great bead artists thru the West Michigan Bead Artist Association and through Wet Canvas and Lampwork Etc (online sites for bead artists) I now have bead friends all over the world.

When I selected the name Glass Eye Butterfly, it was after I entered the Delphi Annual Stained Glass contest in Lansing, MI. I have been entering the contest for years, never expecting to win. In April 2006, I came in 1st place in the sun catcher category for my butterfly.

All of my beads are kiln annealed for added strength and durability.

I hope you enjoy my beads as much as I enjoy making them!
